"THE MARINE RAIDERS' SALUTE TO THE 250th ANNIVERSARY OF THE
U.S. MARINE CORPS."
-Blade Inscription

250 MUSEUM-QUALITY, BATTLEWORTHY, RAIDER FIGHTING KNIVES.

250th Marine Raider Stiletto

Proposed Mission for the Marine Raiders

To: CMC

From: Capt. Jimmy Roosevelt

Date: 12 Dec 44

"To inflict on the enemy surprise and swiftly moving blows . . . To destroy confidence, disrupt well laid plans, create panic, fear and uncertainty, destroy or demolish key concentrations . . . impede the enemies attack and prepare the way for . . . offensive action . . . fits the entire tradition of action and boldness held by the Marine Corps."

The Marine Raiders: One of the most famous and honored units in the 250-year history of the U.S. Marine Corps. And, as proven by their more stringent physical and mental vetting, the Raiders are ranked as the toughest. Now the Raiders pause in action to salute this major and historic 250th Anniversary of the Marine Corps, in the form of a Museum-Quality, Battleworthy Raider Fighting Knife.

The Marine Raider Stiletto was the first and only knife designed specifically for Marines (the Raiders) and by a Marine -- today enshrined as a symbol of this elite force, forming the centerpiece of the hard-earned and-respected Marine Raider Operator Badge. And, over the years, "The Knife That Was Tempered in Hell" -- the Marine Raider Stiletto -- has become an extremely rare and valuable collectible. Today they are nearly impossible to find, rarely seen in even collector "Good" condition, and priced at $1,000-$4,000. It is perfectly in line with the aggressive fighting spirit of the Marine Raiders and is an appropriate trophy.

This Historical Weapons Project is authorized by the Marine Raider Association, which receives a portion of the proceeds from each knife.

Only 250:
Appropriate to this 250th Anniversary, only 250 of these special Raider Fighting Knives are being made. Each bears its serial number etched on the blade reverse, along with the H.G. Long trademark and its joint British/American origin, which is symbolic of the “Special Relationship” between our two nations and that the original training cadre of Raiders trained in U.K. with the British Commandos.

Maker:
H.G. Long & Co., established in 1847 in Sheffield, England, and its U.S. counterpart since 1983, in Richmond, Va.

The Blade:
The nearly 7-inch, Stainless Steel, doubleedged blade is made in Sheffield, where it is hardened, tempered, mirror- polished, and sharp/strong enough to piece a coin; it is etched with a banner honoring this important Anniversary. The central element is the distinctive Marine Raider Skull surmounted on its diamond background.

The Hilt:
The Hilt is cast of Fine Pewter, antiqued to look like the wartime originals, with polished highlights. Checkered and empaneled for good purchase.

Martingale/Wrist Strap:
Tied and affixed Parachute Cord, in Raider patch tri-colors.

Optional Display Case:
American Dark Oak, with locking glass lid to secure your investment and wall mounts, for proud display in your home, office or War Room; 16” x 6” x 2.25”. The liner is draped in Marine Corps Scarlet.

How to Reserve; Satisfaction Guaranteed:
Reserve your Battleworthy fighting knife with a small deposit of $49. It will be delivered to you by insured UPS, and you have six (6) months to inspect it and decide if you wish to keep it. If not, return it for a full and unquestioned refund, including shipping charges both ways. The next major anniversary is 50 years from now, but, this high level of fine craftsmanship in England and in the U.S. is fading away. So be one of the only 250 people to own one of these unusually rare and beautiful Marine Raider collectibles, while they are available.
